Time to start thinking more sustainably
As we wake up to the reality of climate change, more and more people are looking for ways to “go green”. In one of the major contributors to emissions - the Transport and Logistics Industries - a growing number of businesses are embracing hybrid vehicles.
Hybrid vehicles -
Emit less greenhouse gases than traditional petrol or diesel-powered vehicles.
Have lower fuel consumption rates, saving you money.
Decrease your environmental footprint.
Newsroom writes “This may not surprise you to hear, but Australia is woefully behind the rest of the world on this transition. For example, we’re one of the few countries without mandatory fuel efficiency standards, which has given us a dirty and inefficient vehicle fleet.”
If you're thinking about making the switch to hybrid vehicles, interested in how they can help you and your business, there has never been a better time to do it.
Why and how your business should go green
It is important to do our part in preserving the environment, the government is working towards targets – through initiatives and sanctions - but we can’t wait for them to bail us out. Hybrid vehicles, either emit far less pollutants or use less fuel than traditional vehicles, which helps reduce our impact on the planet.
According to CSIRO, nearly one fifth of Australia's total greenhouse gas emissions stem from the transport industry alone. That makes it the third largest contributor to our national output.
Incentives
The Australian government is committed to reducing emissions from the transport sector and has introduced several incentives to encourage the uptake of hybrid vehicles. These include tax breaks for businesses that purchase hybrid vehicles, as well as subsidies for the installation of charging infrastructure. The government is also working with the private sector to develop new technologies that will make hybrids even more efficient and affordable.
Kochie’s business builders wrote “Over half of Aussies say they’d pay more for products or services if it came from a business that was actively reducing its carbon footprint. In turn, 66 per cent of Australian small business leaders see the connection between improving sustainable business practices and the opportunity for not just higher revenue, but also increased customer demand, better brand reputation and higher employee retention.”
If saving money, the environment and growing your business isn’t incentive enough, maybe there isn’t a solution!
The Hino Hybrid Range
Hino was the first manufacturer to introduce a Hybrid truck to Australia in 2007 and has been perfecting the vehicle ever since. We aren’t saying our Electric-Diesel Hino 300 Series Hybrid is perfect, but we think it’s pretty close.
The Hybrid is still a 300 Series, so it comes with all of the features you know and love, like Hino SmartSafe and Hino-Connect.
The result is a vehicle that emits up to 20% less CO2 than its equivalent straight diesel model – and uses up to 15% less fuel. That means more money in your back pocket and a reduced environmental footprint, a win-win.
The high price point of hybrids and EV’s have come down significantly in recent years helped by evolving technology and production times, making them an affordable option for many Australians.
